These might be rare, but some serious side effects caused by hydrocodone include tremor, confusion, shallow breathing, sleep apnea, slow heart rate, issues in urinating, lightheadedness, severe drowsiness, agitation, aggressiveness, twitching, muscle stiffness, fever, excessive sweating, hallucinations, loss of coordination, shivers, or infertility. If you observe these side effects then talk to your doctor. If you have hives, rashes, loss of appetite, chest tightness, irregular menstrual cycle, swelling of face, lips, eyes, mouth, or throat then that means you are having an allergic reaction to this medication and you need medical assistance immediately. Another major drawback of this medicine is the risk of addiction. Patients can easily get addicted to this medication and may find it hard to stop consuming. Especially people who have a history of substance abuse are at a greater risk.

What should be done in case of overdose and what should be avoided while using this medicine?

The overdose of hydrocodone can prove to be fatal.
